PartyPoker and BetMGM will launch the Ontario Micro Series. It guarantees CAD$200,000 in low-stakes series. Also, it will have 88 events in total. Additionally, it will run for fifteen days. On the final day, it will have two No Limit Hold ’em Main Events.
According to bookie pay per head sources, it is the fourth online poker tournament series for poker players in Ontario. However, it is the first tournament catering to low-stakes players. In April, its third Ontario Championships Series had a guaranteed pot of CAD$500,000.
The Micro Series targets players with smaller budgets. On the other hand, the Championships Series are for high-stakes players. Both tournaments have the same structure with three buy-in tiers for 88 events of the Micro Series. Thus, the sum of individual tournaments is slightly more than 200.
Ontario Micro Series
You may get in for as little as CAD$0.11 and as much as CAD$265. Both of the series’ Main Events are PKO-style competitions. A Low-tier Main with a $5.50 buy-in offers $3,000 in guarantees, while a High-tier Main with a $55 buy-in offers $25,000.
Day 1 flights for both Mains begin on June 11 and continue through June 26, with the final day of competition, on June 26, featuring all remaining players. Sub-satellites are cheap for players to get into the Main, costing as little as 55 cents.
These cheap qualifiers are supplemented by a dozen satellites, each adding at least one $55 ticket to the prize pool but only costs $11 to join.
In addition to the Main Events, there will be three bounty openers (PKOpener) at CAD$0.55, $11, and $55 buy-ins. The $11 edition guarantees $1500, the 55-cent edition guarantees $50, and the $55 buy-in has $5000 in guaranteed prize money. It is an alternative to win money betting on eSports.
According to pay per head reviews and news sites, the Super High Roller, with a CAD$265 buy-in and a 7-max PKO structure, has the second-largest guarantee of the program. Satellites can be purchased for as low as 1 cent and will air on the last day of the series.
